Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation and the NHL’s Johansen Brothers extend their exciting “Hole-In-One” Naming Partnership

Port Moody, BC – June 4, 2020 – NHL brothers, Ryan and Lucas Johansen have agreed to extend their partnership with Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation (ERHF) to continue to name the Foundation’s annual Charity Golf Classic as the Ryan and Lucas Johansen Charity Golf Classic in support of ERHF, presented by Westwood Honda. The new three year term becomes effective for the Foundation’s 2021 tournament, tentatively set for July 6, 2021 at Swaneset Golf and Country Club – marking the 21st year for the tournament that has raised close to $3 million to support the greatest needs at Eagle Ridge Hospital.

In early July, approximately 288 golfers take over the two courses available at Swaneset for a day of golf, food and beverage tasting, auctions and networking. The naming partnership with the Johansen brothers has meant additional NHL players from around the league also come out to play, giving golfers an opportunity to spend the day golfing with a NHL player.

“We are excited to extend our partnership with the Johansen brothers and their family,” say Charlene Giovannetti-King, Executive Director of ERHF. “Their involvement in our long-standing tournament has elevated the event, from the experience we offer our golfers to the overall funds raised in support of Eagle Ridge Hospital. The Johansen family has been supporting the Foundation for many years and we are grateful to Ryan, Lucas and the entire Johansen family for their continued support.”

Randall Johansen, Ryan and Lucas’ father, speaking on behalf of his sons, who are both still out of town with their respective hockey teams due to the COVID-19 pandemic, added “Ryan and Lucas are huge supporters of Eagle Ridge Hospital and the Foundation, we’re all proud to extend this partnership and support our local, community hospital,’ says Johansen. “Our family has relied on the hospital over the years, especially in the boy’s younger years and early hockey careers. I am proud that both Ryan and Lucas see the importance of giving back to the community they grew up in and have chosen to continue to support ERHF in this manner. Our family looks forward to seeing everyone again at the 2021 tournament.”

On top of a fabulous day of golf, participants are treated to a morning patio party, food and beverage on course, exciting contests, activities and post-golf after-party.

Registration for the 2021 tournament will open in spring 2021, you can book your sponsorships now however. For more information contact Kailah Knittle at
