Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation Celebrates & Thanks Drive for the Cure Foundation

On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, the team here at Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) Foundation, along with ERH site leadership, were proud to acknowledge Drive for the Cure Foundation, Rob Jeeves and team, who officially “cut the ribbon” on the Patient Treatment/Exam Room for Ostomy Care, named in their honour, located in the new Community Outpatient Services Department here at ERH.

Drive for the Cure Foundation chose to support the naming of this particular room as it aligns with their values and philanthropic goals around enhancing the health, well-being, and quality of life for those individuals and families struggling with cancer or neurological illnesses, while also inspiring others to join them in supporting the growth of our community hospital. Thanks to their partnership, more people will receive the legendary outpatient care our community deserves – supporting individuals & families who are battling and recovering from cancer.

Please join us in thanking Drive for the Cure Foundation. They have been a true partner in helping to transform health care services at ERH – the naming of the Ostomy Room in the new Community Outpatient Services Department demonstrates that even further and will undoubtedly inspire others to step up and do the same.

About Community Outpatient Services at Eagle Ridge Hospital

Community Outpatient Services (COS) is an integral part of our hospital – designed for the treatment and diagnosis of patients in four key areas: Wound Care, Rapid Access Clinics (i.e. Psychiatry, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Internal Medicine and Respiratory), IV Therapy (i.e. Iron, Blood and IVIG) and Medical Daycare. The increased demand for outpatient services at ERH, combined with the population growth in the Tri-Cities, highlighted the fact that the former space housing COS was undersized and overcrowded. Given these patients often require regular visits to our Hospital, their care and comfort is paramount. The new COS space at ERH will increase efficiencies, capacity and improve patient outcomes; 50% more treatments spaces allows for faster follow-up, keeps patients close to home rather than having them go to outside specialists, as well as allow for the trial of new treatment methods, which will promote better healing.

Thank you again to the team at Drive for the Cure for helping us ensure ERH continues to provide Legendary Care. We Deserve It.
