Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation thanks Phoenix Truck & Crane Ltd., founded and owned by Bill Dick, for their generous donation of $16,000 towards a new barbeque and comfortable outdoor furniture to enhance the lives of the residents of the Cypress, Connelly and Cottonwood Lodges.
The Cypress, Connelly and Cypress Lodges provide mental health services in a home-like setting for those living with mental illness, requiring long term care. Residents are encouraged to set their own unique goals – their hopes and dreams maybe things like visiting a coffee shop, or taking a walk around Rocky Point Park, things we can take for granted.
With a combined total of over $500,000 in donations and sponsorships, Phoenix Truck & Crane Ltd. has been one of the longest supporters of this cause, donating towards the Hopes and Dreams fund, which funds recreational outings, Christmas gifts and wish list items for the residents of the lodges, so they can have a safe space to focus on healing and recovery. Bill Dick not only donates significantly towards this fund, but he also makes time to visit and connect personally with staff and residents to see the impact of his support, but to also learn about new or upcoming needs for the residents..
In the spring, with summer fast approaching, the need for more outdoor space with comfortable seating arose, as the Lodges residents enjoy their outdoor time and thrive when they can spend more time enjoying the sunny days. Being able to offer more outdoor experiences for the residents makes a big impact on the quality of the residents’ lives. Having a new barbeque and comfortable furniture enhances the time that the residents spend outside, supporting their overall well-being and provide a welcoming space to visit with family members.
When approached with this need, Bill Dick and Lora Covinha, President and General Manager of Phoenix Truck & Crane, stepped up without hesitation, funding brand new, high quality patio chairs, patio umbrellas, outdoor dining tables and a barbeque for all three lodges.
“I firmly believe that a strong community is the cornerstone of success, both personally and professionally. At Phoenix Truck & Crane, we recognize the integral role that our community plays in shaping who we are as individuals and as a business. Giving back is not just a responsibility; it’s a privilege, an opportunity to make a positive impact and create a brighter future for all. Mental health is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart, and we are happy to give back because we understand that our success is intertwined with the well-being of those around us. Together, we can build a community where everyone thrives, and that’s a legacy worth striving for.”
