The Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation is delighted to announce Sharon Perry as the recipient of the prestigious Caring Heart Award at the record breaking 2023 Evening of Caring Gala, which raised over $605,000 towards supporting greatest needs for the Foundation.
The Caring Heart Award is the highest honour of the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation, bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate exceptional philanthropy and make significant contributions to the Foundation’s mission of enhancing patient care, equipment, and healthcare programs at Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) and in the Tri-Cities, Anmore and Belcarra communities.
Sharon Perry’s unwavering dedication and remarkable generosity have made a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals in our community. She has been a long time supporter of the Foundation, supporting many Foundation events through participation and sponsorship, helping consistently fund greatest needs at Eagle Ridge Hospital, from much needed equipment such as a vein finder, and sleeper chairs, to programs like breast health.
In 2017, when Sharon Perry learned of the planning to completely renovate and expand the Cardiology Department, Sharon and her family stepped forward with a tremendous commitment of a $1 million gift, to honour her late father, Bruce Kehler. The Bruce Kehler Cardiology Department has been completely transformed, thanks to the generosity of Sharon and her family, and set the tone for the rest of the hospital expansion project, including the renovation and expansion of Community Outpatient Services, and the Emergency Department.
Alongside Sharon Perry receiving the much deserved award, the 2023 Evening of Caring Gala saw many significant victories and milestones on Saturday, May 13th. The gala raised a total of over $605,000 towards Eagle Ridge Hospital’s greatest needs – a record breaking amount for the Foundation. Of the total, $318,000 was raised towards the Medical Imaging Capital Campaign, exceeding its fundraising goal of $2.1 million to upgrade medical imaging equipment at Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH). Sharon Perry made a significant contribution towards this amount, stepping up during the evening to offer a matching donation to inspire other donations within the room.
